Forest Vulnerability & Adaptation Workshops
Forest landowners are concerned about changes they see in the woods. Increasing damage from weather, insects, and diseases is having an impact on forest composition, productivity, and health.
The Family Forest Network of Nova Scotia (FFN) is working with Innovative Climate Strategies Inc. to create a forest “Vulnerability & Adaptation Assessment” for Nova Scotia. We want to learn more about what’s happening on your lands, and what you’ve already done to adapt to the challenges.
In mid-July, we will host three “listening sessions” across the province for woodland owners and forest professionals only. In addition to serving as a foundation for the vulnerability analysis, your comments will also help us to prepare a “Forest Change Adaptation Playbook” for Nova Scotia. The guide will highlight resources and strategies to help owners manage risks related to weather and climate. When the playbook is finished later this year, we will send a free digital copy to everyone who attended one of the workshops.
The sessions are free but limited to 80 participants. Lunch and snacks also will be provided at no cost.
Advance registration is required by Monday, July 8. we know your time is valuable, so you are welcome to attend all or part of the day. Please follow one of the links below to sign up in your region:
